Why Partner With Us

Real talent. Real work. No overhead.

Most companies in Málaga tell us the same thing: they want motivated junior talent, but don't have time to recruit, vet, and onboard. That's exactly what Soltern solves.

🌎
International perspective
US students bring bilingual potential, fresh market insight, and a hunger to prove themselves in a new country. Many bring skills your local pipeline can't provide at junior level — especially in English-language content, US market research, and digital marketing.
Pre-screened and ready
Every student passes a personal interview, academic verification, and readiness check before we even show you their profile. By the time they arrive, they're oriented, motivated, and prepared to contribute from day one.
📅
Flexible timing
3-month semester placements or 4–6 week summer programs. We work around your project calendar and hiring needs — not the other way around.
🤝
We stay involved
Mid-term check-ins, weekly student support, and a direct line to Antonio throughout. If something isn't working two weeks in, you hear from us — not the student.
What Soltern handles so you don't have to
Sourcing & vetting — We recruit, screen, and interview every student personally before presenting them to you.
Housing & logistics — Students arrive with accommodation already sorted. No pastoral care falls on your team.
Visa guidance — We walk students through Spain's student visa process end to end. You sign a simple hosting letter; we do the rest.
Academic documentation — Learning agreements, progress reports, and completion certificates all produced by us.
On-ground support — We're based in Málaga. Students have a 24/7 contact. You have a direct line to Antonio.
Mid-term check-ins — We check in with both you and the student halfway through to catch and resolve any issues early.
You provide
A desk and a real project to work on
A designated mentor on your team (a few hours/week)
An employer reference letter at the end

The Process

From first conversation to first day

1
Tell us what you need
Fill out the short form below or drop Antonio a message. Tell us your team size, the role you have in mind, and when you'd like them to start.
2
We present matched profiles
Within a week, we send you 1–3 pre-screened student profiles matched to your brief. You choose. No obligation until you say yes.
3
Sign a simple Letter of Intent
Non-binding, one page. Confirms your intention to host. We handle all documentation from there — learning agreement, visa hosting letter, insurance.
4
Student arrives ready
We orient them in Málaga, brief them on your company, and deliver them to your office on day one ready to contribute. You brief them on the project. Done.
The goal of our first conversation is not a signed agreement. It's to understand what your team actually needs and whether we have a student who's a genuine fit. If we don't, we'll tell you. We only make matches we're confident in.

Common Questions

Things companies ask us

We don't have time to manage an intern.
That's the most common concern — and it's fair. We pre-screen students heavily so they arrive already oriented and ready to work. We also do weekly check-ins ourselves, so if something isn't working, you hear from us before it becomes a problem. Most managers tell us a semester in that it's less work than expected. We can also start with just one student for a single summer to test it.
Do we have to pay the intern?
For semester and summer programs — no. The student's program fee covers our management costs, and students understand this is a structured educational internship. For extended placements of 6+ months, we can discuss whether a student stipend makes sense. But for standard programs, your cost is zero beyond providing a desk and mentorship time.
Our team mostly works in Spanish.
That's not a dealbreaker — and can actually be a feature. Spanish classes are included in every student's program, so they arrive with basics and improve throughout. More importantly, if any part of your work touches international markets, English content, or US clients, a native English speaker is an asset your local pipeline doesn't provide.
We've had bad experiences with interns before.
This usually comes down to two things: the student wasn't properly screened, or expectations weren't set clearly. We solve both. Every student passes a personal interview with Antonio. We produce a learning agreement both parties sign — so there's no ambiguity about what's expected. And we check in throughout. If it's not working two weeks in, we fix it.
What's the legal setup — are they employees?
Students come as educational interns on a structured program. The arrangement is governed by a learning agreement (convenio de prácticas in Spanish), not an employment contract. You provide a hosting letter for their visa. There is no employer-employee relationship — no payroll, no Social Security contributions, no labor law obligations for standard programs.
Can you just send us some information?
Of course — that's what this page is for. But if you're genuinely curious, the fastest way to know if this works for your team is a 20-minute call with Antonio. No slides, no pitch deck — just a real conversation about what you need and whether we can fill it. Fill out the form below and he'll reach out within 24 hours.

What Hosting Looks Like

Simple terms. Real partnership.

📋
What you sign
A non-binding Letter of Intent to confirm you're interested, followed by a simple learning agreement (convenio de prácticas) that outlines the role, hours, and duration. One page each. No legal complexity.
⏱️
Time commitment
A designated mentor on your team — roughly 2–3 hours per week. A brief mid-term check-in with us at week 6. An end-of-term reference letter and short evaluation. That's it. We handle everything else.
💶
Cost to you
Zero for semester and summer programs. Students pay program fees that cover Soltern's management. You provide a desk, a mentor, and real work. For extended placements (6+ months), a small student stipend may be discussed — but it's optional and case-by-case.

Letter of Intent

Start with a handshake, not a contract.

The first document we ask for is a non-binding Letter of Intent. It doesn't commit you to anything — it just tells us you're interested so we can start matching students to your brief.

  • Non-binding — no legal obligation at this stage
  • Useful for Erasmus accreditation applications
  • Creates a paper trail of real partnerships
  • Takes 5 minutes to complete and return
